Money matters, but feeling valued matters too

Money matters, but feeling valued matters too

There was an article recently which found that employees are most motivated when financial reward is combined with genuine recognition.

That certainly resonates with what we hear.

Good people don’t just want a payslip every month. They want to know they’re making a difference.

Sometimes that’s:
• A simple thank you
• Recognition for a job well done
• Positive feedback from a manager
• Credit for their contribution

None of those cost anything.

But they can have a huge impact on motivation, engagement and loyalty.

The best businesses seem to understand that.

They don’t choose between reward and recognition. They make both part of their culture.
