What’s frustrating you in your current role?

Sounds like an easy interview question, doesn’t it.

I had a candidate earlier this week asked the question, and they went into 2-minute rant about everything that’s wrong with where they work.

The other default replies are either:
❌ Give a generic, safe answer
❌ Dodge it completely

None of what he said was wrong.
In fact, I hear this kind of direct no filter response more than you would think.

But in an interview this approach works against you, as you come across negative.

A better way to handle it:
πŸ‘‰ Acknowledge the frustration
πŸ‘‰ Keep it concise
πŸ‘‰ Link it to what you want next
πŸ‘‰ Move on

Honesty is important.
How you deliver it is what gets you hired.
