Are we doing enough to retain experience in the construction industry?

There was a recent report that said the UK ranks last in the G7 for enabling people aged 55+ to remain in rewarding employment.

It got me thinking about the huge amount of knowledge and experience within our industry, and whether its value and contribution are always recognised.

Particularly in more technical sales roles, where that knowledge can take years, sometimes decades to build.

Of course, businesses need to bring new talent into the industry and develop the next generation, but they need to be learning from someone.

So are we doing enough as an industry to retain that knowledge and experience?
