Not every career move needs to be about chasing a step up the ladder and more money.

Sometimes the best move is simply joining a business where:
– the culture is better
– the management team is supportive
– the territory is more manageable
– the products are respected
– the expectations are realistic

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve spoken with salespeople who moved into management, specification sales or key account roles… only to realise it wasn’t really them.

When you’re next considering a move, think about what you genuinely enjoy and what you’re actually good at.

Not what people expect of you.
And not where you think your career should be heading.

A bigger title and more money don’t always equal happiness.

You’re far more likely to succeed in an environment you genuinely enjoy and feel comfortable in.
